Best Practices:
- It's all about recovery.
Worst Practices:
- The Seven Deadly Habits of a DBA
- We have faith in our backup.
- It will work the way we expect it to. Let's go ahead.
- We don't need to monitor the system. The users always let us know when something's wrong.
- We'll remember how this happened, and what we did to get things going again.
- Don't look at me, it's the developer's fault that SQL is in production.
- I know what I'm doing and don't need any help.
- Things would work so much better if only we had...
- If we type in the prod database 1000 times per day and the test database 3 times per day, we won't accidentally delete a production table.
- 3 levels of backup are enough.
